The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher. This position will be funded partially by the project PCIfinanced by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/and by the European union NextGeneration EU/PRTR.

ICIQ is one of the worlds internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis Renewable Energy and Health. ICIQ is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the group of Prof. Beatriz Prieto.

Responsibilities

• Read and review literature and undertake relevant research;
• Fabrication and functionalisation of nano/microstructured electrodes;
• Design and optimisation of novel electrochemical sensing strategies;
• Integration of sensors into pointofneed devices;
• Report writing;
• Attend meetings to discuss the progress of the project;
• Produce papers and presentations of the highest quality;
• Undertake supervision and training of intern and PhD students as requested by the research leader;
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in the conduct of research especially in observing research and intellectual property protocols established by the ICIQ.

Requirements

• A PhD qualification in the field of chemistry materials science or a related discipline combined with demonstrated research experience in electrochemical analysis and micro/nanofabrication;
• Sound knowledge and expertise in surface analysis and prototyping;
• Demonstrated contribution to knowledge in the fields as evidenced by a publication record in high ranking international refereed journals;
• High level written communication and presentation skills as well as demonstrated experience in producing high quality technical and scientific documentation independently for dissemination to audiences of both experts and laypersons;
• High level interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with research colleagues and external associates in a multidisciplinary environment.

We offer:

• A fulltime 3year contract.

• Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments

Selection Process

ICIQs selection process usually entails the following phases:

• Preselection: The preselection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates CVs. This phase is meritbased.
• Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee.
• Offer Letter:Once the successful candidate is selected the People Unit will extend a Job Offer specifying the start day salary and overall job conditions.
