Throughout history seaweed has played a crucial role in various cultures serving as a valuable resource for food medicine and industry.At The Seaweed Company we are on an epic journey to rediscover the potential of this magic ingredient. Our product

SeaMeat is our seaweed blend that can replace 25% of meat in meatballs burgers sausages and other minced meat products. Super tasty juicy and goodlooking. As seaweed is (almost) climate neutral this leads to a 25% reduction in its climate impact while also enhancing the products health benefits. Reducing scope 3 emissions and improving Nutriscores. To create a meaningful impact we chose a hybrid approach that can instigate change on a broader scale reaching a larger audience rather than focusing solely on a niche vegan market. Tasks

To further increase our impact we are looking for someone to own and drive the product development and be THE expert towards our customers. Understanding the detailed functionalities and possibilities of our seaweeds and support our customers in developing mouthwatering concepts such as SeaMeat . We all know aproduct on its own doesnt sell even seaweed needs to be presented in an attractive way. And that requires a true foody.Will you jump on board

Youll be the spider in the web cooperating closely with sales & marketing as well as supply chain quality & operations. Understanding possibilities and seeing new opportunities. Coming up with creative ideas while structuring the work so we dont lose focus and cooperate effectively.

Requirements

• You have a bachelors or masters degree in food technology or something similar
• You have 35 years of experience in a commercial food(ingredient) development role.
• You have a passion for food and know how to present food in an inspiring way
• You like to experiment with our seaweed to test and (let) taste different options.
• You want to learn all ins and outs of seaweed to become a true expert (yes a bit of a nerd would be perfect)
• You come up with creative ideas but can also work in a structured (project management) way
• You are commercially savvy and like to join customer meetings understand our customer needs and identify ideas that make sense from a business perspective
• You thrive in an environment that involves collaboration with diverse colleagues crossfunctional teams and a wide range of partners/clients.
• You can handle an environment that is not yet fully established. Youll need to help define what facilities we need identify other requirements and work relatively independent
