Our Opportunity: Our company is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead our High Net - Worth Individual (HNWI) practice. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of advisors, with varying disciplines, to benefit the Firm s clients. The HNWI Senior Tax Manager works closely with partners, directors, managers and staff to plan, supervise, review and complete client engagements. In this role, you will cultivate client relationships by listening to understand their goals and providing proactive, tax planning strategies. You will also serve as a key contact for designated clients. In addition, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Director of Practice Growth to examine growth strategies to attract new clients.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide holistic, comprehensive & complex tax planning to facilitate the financial goals of high net - worth individuals

  • Integrate lifetime tax and financial planning strategies thru an array of different strategies

  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing seamless service alongside multi discipline teams

  • Proactively research & recommend solutions to complex technical issues

  • Manage overall service delivery & engagement performance

  • Recruit, develop & guide new team members in the HNWI practice

  • Provide compliance, planning and strategies for trusts and estates, gifting, credit

    shelter and insurance trusts, and tax preparation for fiduciary and gift income tax

  • Help establish goals for junior team members to facilitate their career growth &

    advancement

  • Foster an environment of inclusivity where team members are encouraged to

    contribute ideas to develop & grow the HNWI practice

  • Cultivate business networks by identifying channels and cultivating relationships

    with the channel keepers

  • Promote REACH within the HNWI team

Salary: $120k 140k (DOE). Flexible for highly qualified candidates.


Requirements


  • 7+ years tax consulting & planning experience serving high net - worth individuals
  • Strong manager experience, management qualities.

  • Licensed CPA or JD

  • Public Tax experience, pass through entities, not corporate focused
  • Public Audit experience, must be external auditors w/ exp that is not auditing government entities or non- profits. Can do EBPs
  • Licensed Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or other similar licenses a plus

  • Persuasive verbal and writing skills

  • Highly effective listening skills

  • Proven ability to take "ownership" of client relationships

  • Willingness to take ownership of the HNWI Segment development efforts

  • Ability to build and retain relationships with multi discipline advisors including attorneys, investment advisors and insurance brokers

Required Qualifications: Candidates must be external auditors with experience that's NOT auditing government entities or not-for profits. They can do EBP's but that should not be their focus. Highly prefer candidates who can commute daily to our office located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Remote candidates will be considered but MUST NOT reside in the following states: California, New York, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Puerto Rico Experience with complex equity structures and revenue recognition Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to juggle multiple engagements CPA licensure in North Carolina Minimum 7 years of external audit experience in a public accounting firm Demonstrated commitment and track record of providing excellent client service SOC Reporting experience is a plus
