Job Description

Job Summary:


Our client in the financial sector is looking to hire a Senior Accountant who will be tasked with daytoday accounting operations preparing financial reports to assess the financial performance of the business and assisting the business in implementing efficient and diligent financial practices. The finance manager is heavily involved in the daytoday of the company accounts with the responsibility of making observations of the financial state of the Company.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Accurately review reconciliations of bank transactions petty cash cheque and credit card
  • transactions and approve work from other members of the team
  • Reconcile outstanding Receivables and Payables as well as maintain accruals and prepayment
  • schedules.
  • Run weekly monthly and quarterly management reports.
  • Support other members of the team with their work.
  • Take on complex tasks that require historical amendments to accounting systems.
  • Must be able to handle using multiple cloud accounting applications including the ability to learn new accounting systems.
  • Perform general office duties as well as other assignments as needed.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting/Finance from a reputable university. Masters an added advantage
  • Proven experience in managing a bookkeeping team.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting or a similar role in a busy environment
  • Must be a member of ICPAK
  • Familiarity with of bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
  • Handson experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • High degree of accuracy especially with data entry.
  • Ability to perform filing and recordkeeping tasks.
  • Data Entry and word Processing
  • Word processing skills.
  • Proper Organizational skills.



- Experience overseeing a business with more than 300 employees and an annual turnover exceeding 6 Billion shillings. - At least 10 years experience in senior management, minimum 3 years experience as an MD role of a MFI or Financial Services. - A deep knowledge of the latest developments in the financial industry. - Well organized, with excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask. - Innovative and entrepreneurial approach. - Develop positive relationships with business partners, investors, and senior management. - Strong leadership skills. Someone who sets a strong example and leads from the front. - Administration of Management Contracts and ensuring that all deliverables are met per the agreement and updated policies are in place.
