We are hiring a Quality Assurance Person (QAP) for our Client in Nova Scotia.
- Ensure cannabis products are produced packaged labelled stored sampled and tested in accordance with Cannabis Regulations GPP and SOPs.
- Update and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and associated documentation.
- Promoting GPP and Quality Assurance standards as applicable.
- Oversee critical/technical review and implementation of documents batch records test results procedures and production equipment including equipment qualification and validation.
- Manage and oversee client audits private certifications compliance Health Canada inspections and information requests pertaining to Quality Assurance.
- Provide ongoing guidance and training to consultants staff and Senior Management on SOPs and regulatory compliance.
- Manage complaints deviation/incident and corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations and change control programs.
- Coordinate the sampling and testing program for product retain release inputs and exports
- Oversee the product label issuance and approval process
- Participate in CRA and CTLS reporting.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Quality Assurance College Diploma Program from a recognized Canadian Institute or Equivalent.
- 2 years of Quality Assurance experience within a regulated environment (food cannabis pharmaceutical). Experience in a cannabis production environment preferred.
- 1 year experience as a QAP at a license producer (LP) of cannabis products preferably one with a processing and sales license.
- Strong technical aptitude able to effectively use email (MS Outlook) MS Word MS Teams MS Excel google docs google sheets. Experience with electronic inventory and quality management system is preferred (Ample Organics Elevated Signals etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to write read and comprehend technical documents such as SOPs.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Occasionally working in indoor areas ranging in temperature from 17 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius
- Don and doff fullbody PPE always wearing fullbody PPE while working
- Working in close proximity to cannabis plants which can trigger allergic reaction
- Working in an environment with a strong cannabis odor
- This role operates in a standard office setting during core business hours with nonstandard hours required based on operational needs
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines
- This is primarily a sedentary role; however the role may occasionally require repetitive physical demands such as typing bending and lifting (up to 15lbs.)
- This role requires frequent need for concentrated reading and screen time.
