With their recent expansion into the Ontario market PHL Capital Corp. is currently seeking a motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to join their team and make their mark in the Ontario region. Reporting to the Vice President Sales & Origination the successful candidate will be responsible for building and expanding PHL s presence in the region. You will work to develop and sustain strong relationships with both new and existing mortgage brokers and clients by delivering engaging presentations to inform them about PHL s services. This exciting role requires a selfmotivated dynamic individual who enjoys working in a fastpaced independent environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Ontario lending market identify opportunities and establish PHL Capital Corp. as a trusted and reliable partner in the region;
  • Connect with realtors in order to gain valuable insights and a deeper understanding of the market;
  • Attend client meetings understand their needs and provide tailored lending solutions;
  • Generate new business opportunities close deals and achieve sales targets. Your main focus will be on acquiring new clients and expanding their customer base in the region;
  • Actively participate in industry events connect with mortgage brokers and present PHL Capital Corp. services to potential partners. Networking will be a crucial aspect of this role;
  • Create manage and deliver comprehensive business development reports to track and enhance sales revenue and market expansion efforts;
  • Working knowledge of underwriting appraisals and overall understanding of the Ontario Real Estate and mortgage landscape;
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for compiling mortgage summaries with a keen eye for detail ensuring accurate and efficient documentation for lending decisions.

Requirements

  • PostSecondary education with an emphasis in business administration or equivalent;
  • 35 years experience in Business Development within real estate conveyancing mortgage financing or banking considered a strong asset; with a strong understanding of the market;
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities;
  • Selfmotivated with a strong work ethic;
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal relationshipbuilding skills with the ability to connect and build relationships with various individuals inside and outside the organization;
  • Ability to thrive in a highvolume fastpaced work environment. PHL values a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering results while maintaining a positive and collaborative atmosphere;
  • Outstanding organizational skills attention to detail accuracy and the ability to put together mortgage summaries accurately;
  • A gogetter and selfstarter responsible for your own success in this remote position with the ability to take ownership of your territory and make it your own;
  • A drive to achieve sales targets and expand the company s presence in Ontario;
  • Extensive experience using MS Office programs (Excel Word Outlook);
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills are crucial;
  • Ability to embrace the nature of a dynamic work environment with a schedule that may require flexibility extra hours and travel to meet clients across the Greater Toronto Area;
  • Must hold a valid Mortgage Broker License in Ontario;
  • A Valid Driver s license.


This is a fulltime remote opportunity (Monday to Friday) based in the Greater Toronto Area serving the region encompassing London to Oshawa.
