Senior Data Scientist

We have an exciting position for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Advanced Machine Learning Team. As a Senior Data Scientist you will work across project teams providing highlevel guidance and oversight as well as stepping in handson when needed. As a senior member of the team you will be responsible for ensuring that we apply best practices in research and development and deliver solutions that deliver value to the endusers. You will be working with the stakeholders and subject matter experts of the various businesses as well as external strategic partners both commercial and academia. You will also contribute to further grow the capabilities and broaden the expertise in the team. On a day to day basis you will work closely with the Principal AI Researcher of the team. This role provides an interface and liaises between the power trading business and the Advanced Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence team.

Responsibilities:

Translate complex business problems into projects with clearly defined scope

Use innovative research to influence relevant products and partner teams.

Design implement and deliver Advanced Machine Learning solutions to solve a wide variety of business problems

Mentor junior Data Scientists and guide them in project delivery

Provide subject matter expertise in Machine Learning

Build relationships with internal project stakeholders and external partners both commercial and academic

Be a proactive communicator who is excited to share your work and present the insights and findings

Be articulate and compelling in describing your ideas to both technical and nontechnical audiences and backup your message with visualizations

Stay current on stateoftheart approaches and new Advanced Machine Learning technique

Requirements:

Master s degree in Statistics Mathematics Physics Engineering Computer Science or Operations Research

PhD in relevant domain is an advantage

Candidates ideally have some prior work experience as a quant / energy trading analyst in the power markets and / or experience with modeling and scheduling of batteries and renewables

Experience across the project lifecycle from ideation to delivery

Handson experience of building Machine Learning models in Python

Experience working in AzureML and / or AWS SageMaker is an advantage

Ability to work on complex problems and deliver business critical solutions

Track record of delivering on and leading projects

Excellent communications skills and experience working in agile teams

Track record of conference / journal publications is an advantage

Requirements: Candidate is capable of supporting migration of an enterprise web application to an updated technology stack. The back-end technology is to be renewed, whereas large parts of the existing user interface can be reused. Other enhancements to be made include the implementation of an improved role-based access control concept, that meets privacy and security requirements. The software architecture is to be documented using Arc42 template.
