Position Overview: The Director of Finance will be instrumental in financial planning, business development strategy, reimbursement planning and analysis as well as be responsible for financial oversight for Montrose Memorial Hospital. The Director of Finance will drive finance, accounting, audit and reimbursement process enhancements and margin improvements across the organization. Additional major functions include forecast planning, business development, cost reporting, payor contracting, revenue cycles, budgets, internal controls, auditing, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation and analysis. This position will be responsible for directing financial processes in concert with the Hospital s Chief Financial Officer. Essential Functions: a) Responsible for all Finance functions for Montrose Memorial Hospital under the direction of the CFO. b) Assists in annual and on-going budgeting process. c) Trains and educates hospital leadership on budget and revenue cycles. d) Prepares financial reporting documents and advises CFO of financial reporting. e) Monthly financial statement narrative, variance, explanation, and ad hoc reporting. f) Develops Finance processes, procedures and policies. g) Coordinates with other departments as necessary to provide data for operational improvement efforts. h) Review all data necessary for any financial projections, financing, and other related data. i) Assists in devising, installing, and maintaining internal controls and internal auditing programs. j) Oversees the preparation of tax returns. k) Facilitates preparation of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and supporting information in accordance with cost report instructions and pertinent regulations. l) Remains current with reimbursement regulations, prepares reimbursement analysis and develops reimbursement strategy. m) Review financial statements and makes specific recommendations to achieve or exceed budget metric short-term and long-term goals. n) Facilitates monthly operational reviews with leadership. o) Prepares internal financial reports on an accurate and timely basis. p) Provides overall supervision to Finance Department. Plans for the labor productivity through appropriate level of staffing and structure in the department to deliver excellent customer service. q) Works with the CFO to develop reporting and financial statements including balance sheets, profit/loss, statements and analysis of variances in accounts, ratios, income/expense. r) Works with the CFO to develop and implement the annual capital, operational and administrative budgets. s) Supervises the annual financial audit, annual cost report and annual tax returns. t) Ensures accuracy and timeliness of reporting and payments to outside vendors, employees, and governmental agencies. u) Provides additional assistance on special projects as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
