GovFirst is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team located at the Engineering Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, MS.
The successful candidate will serve as a Network Administrator for high performance computing engineering, operations, and will liaison with senior government personnel.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform network administration for local DoD super computing resource center enclaves including hardware, firmware, software and wiring/optics.
- Configure networks and associated supporting software and utilities to optimize system performance.
- Perform risk/benefit analysis before implementing changes.
- Maintain the network topology and diagrams to support security activities as well as maintain all network devices in accordance with DoD policies.
Requirements
- Extensive work experience managing and troubleshooting networks is preferred.
- Experience working with Juniper, Cisco, Brocade, and other network technologies and firewalls is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills; capable of analyzing and resolving operating system problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communications with all levels of management for planning and organizing projects.
- Strong detail-oriented skills; able to multi-task and change priorities quickly.
- Able to meet precise standards.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to work designated schedule, as well as maintain attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to convey complex technical information in an easily understood manner.
Work Authorization Required:
- U.S. Citizen
Education Required:
- Bachelors Degree and 6+ years working experience, or equivalent experience; candidates with Armed Forces college courses or associate degrees, extensive certification, and additional experience are highly encouraged to apply
Certification Required:
- Sec+ or IAT Level II Compliant
Clearance Required:
- Active Top Secret/ SCI
Solid customer-facing and communications skills Highly dependable and self-directed to be at shift on time as required. Minimum of 2 years experience in troubleshooting complex network issues both circuit and routing Working knowledge of Physical Layer and supporting transmission systems TCP/IP Routing and Networking Knowledge of IP routing, Multi-Protocol Layer Switching networks Experience using a trouble ticket tracking system, e.g ServiceNow, etc. Experience using Network Monitoring tools, e.g., RiteITnow, SolarWinds, Netscout. Education Required: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field or current Cisco certification preferred. Work Authorization Required: U.S. Citizen Clearance Required: None but must be able to be clearable up to a Public Trust
