Our client in North Fort Worth has been successfully operating for over 50 yrs in the Sports industry. They offer some of the best benefits in the market, beautiful spacious office space (including an onsite gym and full kitchen!), and a tight knit team that works hard but also loves to have fun!
They are looking for an in-office senior-level database developer who has in-depth experience with Microsoft SQL Server versions 2016 and greater. This a small IT department and will be the companys SQL SME. Prior experience in distribution and logistics would be a PLUS!
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
- Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
- Refine and automate business processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Assist developers with optimizing application performance across the entire SQL landscape
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning: physical server level, database level (settings and configurations).
- Participate in various software releases by deploying database scripts and performing post-deployment monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of backup technologies, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions
- Troubleshoot various problems that arise in the day-to-day operations and fix the issues.
- Guide and help design/develop database objects, stored procedures, views, reports, jobs, indexes, functions, tables, and triggers; ensure their stability, reliability, and performance.
- Write and optimize SQL statements for data access and retention.
- Act as a SQL subject matter expert to establish policies, best practices, and share knowledge at all levels within the organization.

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, related field of study, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 4+ years of experience as an MS-SQL Server DBA with responsibility for installing, configuring, and maintaining multiple production SQL Server. 4+ years of experience monitoring, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving database performance issues, including performance tuning and optimization. 4+ years of experience in software development using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and later, T-SQL and T-SQL language (queries, views, procedures), SQL Server database design, stored procedure design, and implementation. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, etc. SSIS implementation and maintenance. Knowledge of visual studio for SSIS job creation. Data Analysis practices using SSAS Administer SSRS environment and develop reports. Always On Availability Groups configuration and maintenance. Data warehousing experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
