IT Technician Worthing, West Sussex
We are recruiting an IT Technician who is a fast learner, and keen to go the extra mile. With a strong work ethic, you will be flexible and enjoy working in a busy environment that is fun, but serious about what it does.
The role will provide Helpdesk support to it s internal customers that span both onsite and remote colleagues. You will be the sole internal technician with external technical support should you need to escalate tickets.
The IT Technicians role is to work with all areas of the business providing hardware and software support to end users. This includes being the first point of contact via e-mail, phone, Teams or walk-in, initial call logging, problem diagnosis, investigation, and resolution where applicable. Following procedures such as seeking appropriate authorisation for access requests. You will also be happy to be flexible, have a can-do attitude and be eager to learn new and challenging things
Install new servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, setting directories and access rights etc.
Liaise with the global IT function based in Europe and project manage local implementation of group IT initiatives
Maintain and update network applications as required *(e.g. Antivirus software, backup etc
Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all networks, hardware, software and investigating troubleshooting issues as required.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions / threats
Manage user accounts; create, change and delete as required.
Conduct briefings, demonstrations and training for users to enhance system productivity and staff proficiencies
Skills / technical knowledge :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
An extensive & details knowledge of modern ICT hardware, software and infrastructure support and development environment.
Experience of servers
Good working knowledge of Active Directory and ideally Group Policy creation.
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN s remote implementation, troubleshooting.
Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
Experience of installing, configuring and upgrading hardware and software.
A sense of urgency and commitment to the timely completion of projects with an attention to detail, along with a commitment to quality.
The salary is 28,000 to 32,000 Negotiable
