Buyer

We have an opportunity for a Buyer (UK) at Surface Technology based in Leeds, UK

Tasks

What will you do?

• Follow company procedures and processes during all purchasing activities.

• Ensure there are sufficient coating materials and chemicals on site to allow prompt processing of customer parts whilst minimizing inventory held onsite.

• Ensure there are sufficient consumable items on site to allow all areas of the business to operate smoothly.

• To ensure the actual value of stock held is reflected in the booked value of that stock through regular stock counts.

• To ensure that inventory removed from stock is accurately recorded so that:

• lot numbers of inventory used can be traced to the job it is used on;

• out of date stock is removed from the book value promptly.

• To ensure goods received match those on the purchase order (3 way match, Purchase Order, Invoice and Delivery Note) and that any discrepancies are addressed with the supplier promptly.

• Ensure no chemicals are purchased without Safety data sheets FIRST being reviewed by Surface Technology QHSE and Technical departments

• Build and maintain excellent, professional supplier relationships.

• To monitor supplier delivery performance and take the necessary action should performance fall below the required level.

• Discounts to be negotiated where possible with existing suppliers of products.

• Complete all related purchasing administration and reporting.

• Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

• Any other reasonable duties.
