Company and Job Summary

Our client is a growing, high-volume plaintiff’s injury law firm in the Chicago Loop. Their staff is passionate about helping injured people get the benefits and recovery they deserve. They are looking for an experienced personal injury paralegal/senior litigation professional to join the team and support the workers' compensation practice. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and process-driven professional to expand their impact and responsibilities in a nimble, collaborative environment.

You Will be Expected to:
  • Own the process flow and task management for workers' compensation cases, including developing, implementing, and training others on these processes/systems as needed.
  • Manage the file opening and tracking process to ensure all information is accurate and complete, and that deadlines are met. This includes detailed client intake through case resolution while leveraging case management and other tools.
  • Manage 200-300 cases at various phases of the litigation lifecycle
  • Obtain and organize client medical records and bills
  • Draft routine letters/communications including motions, subpoenas and correspondence
  • Draft standard complaints, responses, and discovery requests
  • Maintain complex case calendars and schedule/maintain all case-related filings efficiently and accurately.
  • Communicate with clients on the status and as requested by the attorney.
  • Coordinate with OPC/Vendors/Court: send pleadings, set up depositions, coordinate site visits with experts, etc.
What We're Looking For:
  • You have 4+ years of experience in workers' compensation paralegal work.
  • Bilingual/Spanish-speaking required
  • You are an excellent written and interpersonal communicator
  • You pride yourself on an ability to deliver high-quality work products and juggle multiple responsibilities
  • You have advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, as well as case management tools (Filevine)
  • Experience in workers' compensation casest is our highest priority vs a specific certification or educational background
