The Keller Group is proud to spearhead a high-level search for a trusted client in pursuing an experienced and dynamic individual to join their team as the Director of Credit. As the Director of Credit, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the credit operations of the organization. You will be responsible for implementing credit policies, monitoring credit risks, and ensuring efficient and effective credit management processes. This individual must deeply understand working within a publicly traded organization and the related regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess existing credit policies, analyze market trends, and formulate strategies to optimize credit management. Establish guidelines for credit evaluations, terms, and limits to mitigate risks and maximize profitability.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage credit risks associated with the companys customers, partners, and vendors. Conduct thorough credit assessments, review creditworthiness, and establish credit limits and terms in collaboration with sales and finance teams.
  • Lead the credit analysis and underwriting process to evaluate applicants financial statements, credit history, industry trends, and market conditions. Determine appropriate credit terms, collateral requirements, and repayment options.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the credit portfolio, including ongoing monitoring, timely collections, and proactive measures to minimize delinquencies. Develop strategies to reduce bad debt exposure and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provide effective leadership to the credit department, fostering a high-performance culture that promotes collaboration, development, and continuous improvement. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and encourage professional growth among team members.
  • Reporting and analysis: Generate regular reports on credit performance, delinquency, aging, collections, and other key credit metrics. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, finance, legal, and customer service to optimize credit-related processes, resolve disputes, and drive customer satisfaction. Act as a key point of contact for credit-related inquiries and customer negotiations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years working in a credit management role, preferably within a publicly traded company or financial institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit risk assessment, credit analysis, underwriting, and collection strategies.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and industry-specific credit metrics.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing credit management software and financial systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
