For The Netherlands CAF has manufactured the new Sprinters for the NS, trams for the Provence of Utrecht and trams for the city of Amsterdam. We now started to supply 30 new metro s for the city of Amsterdam. CAF Netherlands was established in 2017 with an office in Utrecht. Our current activities in the Netherlands take place in Nieuwegein, Amsterdam (Havenstraat en Zaanstraat), The Hague (Leidschendam) and Utrecht. Testing and warranty for the metro s is done in Diemen.

The position

For our international team we are looking for a Testing Technician who is available to work on the new metro s for the GVB (city of Amsterdam) that are currently being produced by CAF. The role requires a training in Spain for a few weeks and after that the working location is Diemen.

As a Testing Technician you will be working in a small team and you will report to the Testing Engineer. You are hands-on and will perform the necessary equipment tests on the electronic and electrical systems as well as the pneumatic-mechanical devices.

The Testing Technician is capable of working alone as well as in a team. You are able to read technical drawings and design specifications and you have experience in creating technical reports and manuals. You are versatile, creative and have analytical skills. Besides that you are flexible, willing to travel and able to work different shifts on weekdays as well as weekends.

The candidate

• Has an education (level 3) in Electronics;
• Is preferred to have experience in commissioning electrical, electronical systems;
• Is organized, detail oriented, efficient and able to work under pressure;
• Eager to learn and challenged by solving technical issues;
• Experiences in the railways, maritime or aviation sector will be considered a plus;
• Has a sufficient level of English.

Compensation & Benefits

CAF offers a competitive salary with 40 holidays per annum (of which 13 roster free days) based on a 40 hour work week, shift allowance, travel allowance and a pension plan. CAF is covered by the CLA Metalektro. Spending some time at CAF s manufacturing facility in Irun (Spain) may be part of the training process. An extra net allowance will be provided for the days working abroad.
