Business Development Manager

Insuretech start up

We are searching for a passionate Business Development Manager for a series A, award-winning UK insure-tech start-up with unicorn ambition who will live and breathe their brand. You’ll be responsible for finding and engaging partner businesses that provide new routes to market for their insurance products. From Fintech marketplaces, eCommerce and retail brands that could add insurance as an upsell, to institutions that could recommend them or bolt them on to their services - they want to be front and centre every time insurance is an appropriate consideration. The ideal candidate will have experience of identifying relevant opportunities, getting in front of decision makers. You’ll also know how to pull together compelling sales and marketing assets for winning campaigns and pitches. You’ll work as part of a team - but with an emphasis on owning your own projects and growing your own spheres of expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing viable opportunities with new partners
  • Contacting prospective customers and outreach program
  • Evaluating leads
  • Communication strategy
  • CRM software utilisation
  • Understanding of sales processes
  • Data analysis
  • You will be working hand in hand with the broader marketing team and sales to create compelling programs that convert leads to new business.
  • Managing and expanding the pipeline of current partnership targets and opportunities for our mobile and contents insurance products
  • Creating and managing effective lead nurturing campaigns
  • Supporting and/or leading pitch processes
  • Liaising with product and operations teams to develop solutions not currently in our day-to-day offering
  • Ongoing tracking and reporting of activities
  • Supporting the team with data analysis and actionable insights

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of experience in sales and/or business development
  • Experience of designing and building out frameworks and processes that will enable them to rapidly accelerate, balancing strategic foresight with tactical execution.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and growing B2B2C channels
  • Experience of conceptualising and executing sales and marketing campaigns through to successful outcomes
  • Previous experience of Hubspot (or similar) to track, nurture and report on lead
  • Solid Powerpoint, Excel and presentation skills
  • Excellent communications skills and impeccable written English
  • High levels of organisation and attention to detail
  • Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to effectively analyse data and draw actionable conclusions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a goal-oriented approach
  • Proactive problem solving
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver to deadlines, with excellent time management skills
  • Team player, but with the ability to own projects and work independently
  • Experience with, and a deep understanding of B2B business models.
  • Experience working in a start-up OR a company in a stage of major growth
  • Data Driven / Quantify & measure / ROI on work
  • Comfortable being hands on as needed.
  • You will need to have analytical skills to be able to separate effective strategies from the noise with a strong understanding of how to optimize paid and organic campaigns
