As a Logistics Associate Manager OR Manager, a typical day may include:
Expert understanding of Logistics (Domestic and International shipping, cold chain) while addressing issues which impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related fields
Manages relationships internally to ensure internal customer requirements are identified and positioned appropriately with our external logistics partners.
Proven track record to foster good working relationships between internal/external teams and suppliers
Manages Logistics Team to ensure an effective and compliant shipping operation.
Ensures outgoing shipments are coordinated accurately to Filling sites and between CMOs to meet deadlines both domestically and internationally.
Oversees management of transportation related records
Acts as point of escalation for all shipping related issues
Prepares, distributes and presents metric and project status reports to management.
Identifies areas of opportunity with new technologies and completes continuous improvement initiatives throughout the logistics function
Responsible for the day-to-day management of carriers and freight forwarders, supervising performance, driving improvements and building the relationship to ensure that service levels are clear and delivered
Supervising Carrier Performance management and reviews
Identification of alternate routes or modes of transportation to manage flexibility and ensure a proper service is provided to our customers
Build transport network that supports timely delivery and excellent in transit service at optimal total system cost
Optimise supply chain ensuring future outlook/Route development
Ensure all internal & external compliance responsibilities relating to Freight & Freight costs are met
Governance over shipping and freight processes
Work closely with Trade Compliance on establishing trade flows
Identifies areas of opportunity and completes continuous improvement initiatives throughout the logistics function
Look for opportunities based on volumes, service requirements, mode change options or more economic routes
Supplementary freight costs validation and approval
Provide all data for tendering process and participate in carrier negotiations
Ensure risks are identified and appropriately mitigated by effective controls
Support the implementation of strategic projects to manage any freight constraints
Responsible for driving year over year improvements in employee development, safety, quality and customer service through CI, SLIMMY, lean and six sigma initiatives.
Work within the management team to craft and develop the future state Supply Chain Warehouse & Logistics model for the site
Strong initiative and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization and work cross-culturally.
Education and Experience:
BS/BA in Business or Supply Chain field
Minimum 5 years of related experience in a similar role
Experience in leading personnel including setting expectations and performance evaluations.
Cold Chain experience desirable
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
