Job Summary
As a Network and IT Administrator, your primary function is to support and maintain our existing systems whilst also contributing to process improvement and providing advice on ad-hoc IT projects and AWS environment to enhance the racing industry. Typical products you work with are windows desktop PCs, AWS ECs, OpenVPN and Ubiquiti network devices.
Interest and/or experience in the horse racing industry or other racing sports is highly recommended.
To apply for the job, you need to have a solid understanding around the following terminology: TCP/UDP, AWS networking and EC2, Linux, Windows, Office 365, OpenVPN.
Your input into our company matters; our data is seen and used by broadcasters, punters, and racing professionals across the globe. Accuracy and having an eye for detail is paramount.
Job Description:
- Be proactive in support and triage to all IT applications and how we can improve our existing systems
- Setup, deploy and maintain IT systems including PCs, servers, and network infrastructure
- Help build out new IT assets
- Maintain accurate and detailed IT documentation and procedures
- Manage on-boarding/off-boarding processes with the provisioning of employee s software, hardware, and access levels
- Network topology implementation, support, and IT roadmaps
- Implement server and desktop builds
- Wi-Fi, Network, and printer management
- Office 365 administration
- AWS environment management
- On-call support
- Service Desk tickets resolving
- Actively contribute to internal forums and project teams by presenting technical concepts and innovative ideas
- Learn new techniques
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in providing Network and IT technology solutions and support
- Managing network switches and firewalls (especially Ubiquiti)
- Managing OpenVPN server, Office 365
- Skills in networking design, configuration, provisioning, and troubleshooting (Routing, Switching, Firewalls, VLAN, WAN, WLAN infrastructure)
- Monitoring infrastructure uptime and network bandwidth behaviour
- Ability to think creatively.
- Great customer service ability to provide excellent support and understand needs of the user
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Highly motivated with excellent planning and problem-solving capabilities.
