Principle Network Engineer
Onsite role : Denver, Colorado (DAY 1 ONSITE)
This position will provide top tier engineering and troubleshooting for the DISH corporate data network devices and services. Must be a detail oriented and highly organized individual. Best practice network engineering and strategic vision in the design, planning and implementation of technical products and network services. Strong Cisco background necessary. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area, and CCNA certification (Route-Switch) with 12+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Network Engineering (cross-section of relevant skills):
Practical experience related to LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, DMVPN, VPN, SD-WAN and high-availability/multipath/redundant routers, switches, and firewalls in large data center environment
Support network protocols such as: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VLAN, TCP/IP, MPLS, STP, IPv4, subnetting, routing
Familiarity with these technologies is a plus: Cisco ASA, Palo Alto firewalls (physical and virtual), Cisco ISE, networking for F5 LTM/GTM, and networking for IPS/IDS
General technical knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and platforms to include Nexus, ASR, ISR, Catalyst
High level of experience with Cisco's ACI data center platform running in network mode.
Experience with network configuration automation (Scripting with Pearl/Python/Bash), and DNA Center a plus
Experience with AWS infrastructure a plus
Project Implementation:
Provide advanced technical leadership for complex project work
Supply advanced technical direction and leadership to the junior members of the data networking team
Work with various teams to gather requirements, create specifications, and design solution for network projects
Provide hands-on implementation and ongoing care and maintenance for network projects
Develop implementations in lab environment to prove out design specifications according to a test and validation plan
Maintaining daily operational responsibility for reliability of the DISH enterprise network
Monitors ongoing availability of network services and processes via tools such as Solarwinds Orion and Cisco Prime Infrastructure applications
Network Operations:
Follow necessary processes to ensure enterprise network systems and services meet an operational uptime of 99.95%
Conducts advanced enterprise-level performance tuning as well as network performance audits on a regular basis
Maintaining daily operational responsibility for reliability of the DISH corporate network
Manages enterprise network systems and services to an operational uptime of 99.95%
Responsible for design and implementation of data network services and performs network testing and evaluation testing on a regular basis
Conducts advanced enterprise-level performance tuning as well as network performance audits on a regular basis
Monitors ongoing availability of network services and processes.
Extensive knowledge on Cisco routers and switches (Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS)
Validate that customer network configurations are functioning per designs by validating log flows, event threshold settings, and alarm notification settings
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer/Network Engineering or related field; 12+ years as a data network engineer in a medium to large enterprise network; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Qualification
Advanced knowledge of network monitoring and performance tools such as SolarWinds Orion NPM, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Wireshark, etc.
Strategic thinker, strong interest and aptitude in collaborative big picture, enterprise-wide network infrastructure roadmaps.

Full Time
