Ignion is looking for a Senior Antenna Engineer (Antenna Intelligence Cloud) to help our clients to accelarate their time to market.

How you can contribute

Full time Sr Antenna Intelligence Cloud Engineer for the Engineering Department to be involved in the AIC project, with the aim to develop and maintain our Antenna Intelligence Cloud (AIC) system. The service is intended to enable the easy access to our Virtual AntennaTM technology oriented to guide our potential customers to design their IoT devices in the easier, faster, and reliable enough manner to ensure the success of their developments.

Involved in a challenging and disruptive project intended for digitalizing our support services, from electromagnetic simulations carried out in the early stages of the design cycle up to antenna measurements provided during the design stages.

Good understanding and knowledge of the design cycle required to embed an internal antenna in any IoT device. From the proof stage to the design stage up to the qualification stage including all the support services involved.

Propose, optimize and develop new scripts to implement new features and optimize the current ones in our AIC core (VBA, Python).

Provide guidance and support in all the stages of the AIC development cycle, including both backend (AIC core, AWS services) and frontend (web interface, output report) areas, providing appropriate solutions and recommendations when needed.

Define and review the AIC project specs and needs ensuring the best solution available to meet the customer expectations.

Secure project deadlines and goals.

Analyze the AIC technical needs, define the most efficient methodology to satisfy that need. Provide guidance and mentoring to the junior Antenna AIC Engineers to optimally implement such new AIC features.

Coordinate and drive the interaction with other Ignion departments and third parties that take part in the development of the AIC next generation.

Optimize the use of the electromagnetic software to simulate efficiently total or several parts of an antenna radiating system (radiating structure, feeding and matching networks) while improving the agreement between the simulated and the measured results.

Design simple and complex matching network solutions in both, active and passive systems, to easily adjust the antenna performance in the final device.

Build and experimentally adjust design prototypes.

Test antenna prototypes or products in all their main features ([S] parameters, radiation pattern, antenna and radiation efficiency, polarization, gain, directivity, TRP, TIS, etc ).

Analysis, interpretation, reporting, and presentation of the project results.

Periodic reporting to the manager of the assigned activities.

Identify bottlenecks and propose mitigation plans.

Training and coordination activities of other team members.

Train and coach team members to develop their career path at Ignion.

Creation and presentation of technical and customer reports. Participation in Virtual Antenna webinars and workshops.

This is you

Telecommunications/Electronics Engineer.

Antenna engineer with 5-8 years of industry experience in the field of antenna design (preferably for IoT devices).

Solid experience in radiofrequency design & electronics for IoT devices.

Deep knowledge of electromagnetic and microwave simulators (CST, HFSS, Microwave Office - Cadence, Optenni-Lab, )

Proficient in EM simulators scripting (VBA, Python)

Experience in working or developing Machine Learning models is a plus. Familiarized with antenna design challenges for the existing IoT market segments: Smart meter, trackers, wearables, smart home/city, etc

Good understanding and insight on the physical behavior of antennas and microwave networks and systems.

High capability of fully understanding the customers needs and requirements to properly define future AIC features to meet their expectations.

Ability to manage, train and develop teams and assume ownership of several AIC project tasks at the same time with good planification, execution, and delivery skills.

Ability to work on technical challenging problems and solve them efficiently and with success.

Advanced user of measurement equipment: vector network analyzers, anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, field-testers, soldering stations.

Experienced in PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCAD, AutoCAD, etc ).

Highly motivated, goal oriented, and enthusiastic for new challenges.

Willing to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Capable of working independently with minimum oversee having critical thinking and problem-solving approach.

Patient, optimistic, methodical, and meticulous attitude.

Ability to interact and communicate fluently with other team members.

Proficiency in English.

Travel availability.
