St. Johns Academy is a leading IB (International Baccalaureate) school in Vancouver, BC. It intentionally brings together both local and international boarding students so that all of our students have an enriching and academically rigorous experience. Life at St. Johns Academy instills a sense of adventure in our students that are inspired to explore, take risks and innovate in and out of the classroom.
The Finance and Administration Manager is responsible for all aspects of the financial management and administration, achieve and maintain the financial health of St. Johns Academy. The Finance and Administration Manager is expected to provide sound financial advice and effective financial management as well as manage the administrative functions of the school funds. This position is a full-time, permanent position and reports to and works most closely with the Co-Directors. We strictly require our Finance and Administration Manager to have high ethics, integrity, and accountability.

Duties and responsibilities:
Plan, manage and evaluate the operations of St. Johns Academy providing financial and administrative support
Works with the Co-Directors to proactively mitigate financial and legal risks to St. Johns Academy and its board members
Develop the overall institution financial goals and objectives
Evaluate existing policies and procedures and recommend improvements, recommend policies and procedures in areas encompassing finance and accounting
Assist in developing and managing budgeting system
Oversee preparation of financial records related to general ledger, payroll, budget, expense, etc.
Perform account reconciliations and generate financial reports
Identify and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial related problems
Track and monitor resource needs and other material needs for carrying out financial and administration tasks
Monitor and manage expenses within allotted budgets
In close consultation with the Co-Directors so that everyone has an opportunity to understand fully the key financial issues confronting St. Johns Academy

Qualifications:
BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is required
At least 5 years of experience at a professional level in institutional business administration and finance
Extensive experience in financial reporting
Exceptional attention to detail
Superb organizational and time management abilities
Great collaboration and communication skills
Time-management and organization skills
Confidentiality
