UX Principal Designer Consultant

Project Scope/Deliverable Base Tasks

• The goal is to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty through the utility, ease of use, and positive interaction with myCalPERS.ca.gov, calpers.ca.gov, and intranet.ca.gov websites. The scope is to focus on the user experience and user interface sitewide that includes user research, design, prototyping, testing, and knowledge transfer.
• The UX Principal Designer Consultant will develop user-centered experiences for all user groups as it pertains to CalPERS web-based products supported by the UX team:

Deliverable(s) Tasks

Discovery and Design

• Conduct user research studies Create UX analysis document for feedback from stakeholders Review of Analytics Review of current workflows

• Conduct user research studies

• Reorganizing and re-prioritizing information

• Create logical groupings of information

• Create UX Wireframes and User Interface Flows to align with the users'perspective

• Map out new workflows

• Create UX Wireframes and User Interface Flows for responsive design

• Maintain WCAG 2.1 AA requirements

• Create functional prototypes of applications for usability testing

• Create Version History relevant to Release in Figma

• Finalize design assets in Figma

• Provide Quality Assurance and Browser Testing during System Testing.

• Provide feedback and any necessary revisions

• Knowledge transfer UX designs and insights across products and services to fellow UX Designers

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

• Five (5) years of Principal User Experience (UX) skillsets in human-user centered design principals and methodologies for web, mobile, and web applications which leverage emergent technologies, such as HTML 5 (Flexbox and CSS Grid), CSS3 (SASS), JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, and responsive web layouts
• Five (5) years of Principal UX skillsets designing for patterns, design systems, user flows, wireframes, and prototyping.
• Excellent skills using Figma
• Strong experience in process and design improvements, planning and project scheduling, and working in software development lifecycles.
• Strong experience designing for web accessibility standards and requirements, including Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA and subsequent versions.
