Summary

Role purpose and contribution
We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Database DBA - Junior to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with Aristocrat.

Incumbent will perform complex day-to-day administration of the database server, to include installation, maintenance, and configuration. Performs troubleshooting and resolution management. Provides support for advanced user jobs and analytics.

What You'll Do



SQL DBA

24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by business systems
SQL 2012, 2016/2017/2019 Installation, Good troubleshooting skills especially on Performance & tuning
Good to have intermediate level experience in Cloud Azure, SQL hosted services
Development and Oversight of backup strategies for the SQL Server Infrastructure
Manage SQL Database Security
Performs capacity planning
Responsible for monitoring and making decision for performance tuning (high CPU, memory issues, I/O issues, indexes and their fragmentations, updating statistics, server profiler).
Reviews, analyses, evaluates, and recommends new/existing technologies that might increase productivity, reduce down time, or improve the quality of work related to SQL server systems
Work closely with business and IT associates, and outside vendors to effectively choose, plan, deploy and maintain system changes
Apply Service packs, hot fixes & CUs.
Monitor SQL Server, SQL Server Agent, Error log, Application and System logs, Database and Log growth, CPU, Memory and Disk Utilization.
Provides the operational support and development of the Microsoft SQL Server Infrastructure (Production and Non-Production environments, which includes Database Servers, Database Services, and implementation of SQL based tools and infrastructure).
Experience with SQL in virtual, physical and cloud-based environments.
Must have T-SQL and SSIS skills.
Experience in Clustering, Mirroring, Replication.
Experience creating DTS and SSIS packages
Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
Experience with data warehousing a plus
Previous experience working with large databases (at least half terabyte) is necessary.
Provide 24x7 support of the SQL environment, including on call support
Establish and maintain Microsoft SQL Database architecture best practices, including procedures, guides, templates, and relevant documentation
Works closely with application development team to ensure successful deployment and performance of database applications.

What We're Looking For



Education
:
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required.


Experience
:
7-9+ yearsexperience in SQL Server 2012, 2016/2017, 2019 with production support experience in a multi-project environment.
Good to have beginner intermediate level experience in Cloud Azure.
In-depth knowledge of PowerShell, T-SQL and query tuning.
Performance and tuning skills including server configuration and tracing techniques.
Good knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools.
Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and supporting multiple teams within a business.
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of SQL Server native HA (High Availability) and Disaster Recovery (DR) technologies
