HumaTerra is a Canadian early-stage producer and seller of biological soil inoculants. Our mission is to enhance the life of the soil through the diversity, density, and resilience of soil microbial communities.
HumaTerra is conducting Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) with 10 research stations across Alberta and Saskatchewan, and head-to-head trials over 25,000 acres with farmers. After years of Research & Development, were further developing our science team. Wed like you to join us as a Senior Agronomist/Microbiologist/Soil Health Scientist. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid-working position. Ideally, youre based in Alberta or Saskatchewan (our head office is in Central Saskatchewan).
HumaTerra products can be applied wherever the ground has been disturbed. Therefore, were expanding the markets we serve from agriculture to energy, forestry and horticulture.
What will you be accountable for?
Planning microbiological research (and shape the direction of industry research) to further develop HumaTerra products
Working alongside the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to liaise with universities and research groups
Participating in discussions and vetting outside opportunities relating to biology, sampling, and testing
Managing and planning field scale trials and RCTs
Organizing, collecting, and managing all field scale and RCT data
Educating HumaTerra employees, industry representatives and producers. Further expanding and promoting HumaTerras reputation as a leading trusted supplier of biological soil inoculants in North America.
Supporting and presenting at industry events and premier grower events
Writing and submitting grant applications as deemed applicable by the HumaTerra grant committee
Additional duties (as requested by the CTO and/or CEO) to further HumaTerras development and success
Who are we looking for?

Leadership and self-motivation
The ability to overcome challenges and to identify and seize opportunities (analysis and problem-solving)
Capability to build rapport through public speaking/presentations
Communication style versatility
Post-secondary education and experience in agriculture, agronomy, plant science, or a related field
Minimum five years of experience in the Canadian agricultural industry
Have (or be willing to achieve) Professional Agrologist or Certified Crop Advisor designations
