Lumiform, founded in 2018, is a fast-growing SaaS startup from Berlin that operates globally.

A few weeks ago, we raised 6.4 Million in a Series-A financing round with Tier 1 SaaS investor Capnamic to transform the untapped 164 billion inspection market.

Inspections take place in all major industries worldwide and are still conducted mainly by pen and paper, like cleaning documentation, risk assessments, maintenance reports, hygiene checks, safety walk documentation, etc. pp.

The Lumiform application enables deskless teams to digitalize and automate their inspection workflows. Over 30,000 organizations across 188 countries already use Lumiform and have submitted over 1.5 million inspections so far.

Our excellent team works passionately to enable businesses to exceed quality promises and make workplaces safe. A nice side effect: It is environmentally friendly and reduces the use of paper to a maximum.

About the role:
We are looking for a strong Head of Engineering (all genders) eager to transform a huge untapped market with a great product. You will lead our entire tech team of 11 engineers and be responsible for the tech department at our rapidly evolving, product-led growth startup.

Tasks

• You will be the highest in Tech at Lumiform and will lead our entire tech department, currently consisting of 1 BE Tech Lead, 3 BE Engineers, 1 FE Tech Lead, 1 FE Engineer, 1 iOS Engineer, 1 Android Engineer, 1 Website Engineer, 2 QA Engineers, 1 Scrum Master
• Understand our business needs and translate them into tech execution
• Plan, design, and improve our system architecture
• Develop strategic plans and establish Lumiform s technical vision that guides all aspects of technological development
• Decide on new technologies, frameworks, and infrastructure/architecture changes
• Spike, plan, or prototype essential system changes or additions
• Oversee and support necessary, major refactorings and rewrites
• Create and elaborate our technical roadmap
• Define and protect coding standards and business values
• Monitor our system and anticipate needs
• Constantly support improving our development process
• Define team structure, hierarchies, and responsibilities in your department
• Be involved in hiring new talents for your department
• Take care of knowledge sharing, career paths, development and learning of your team members
• Maintain our excellent team spirit and team culture
• Keep team members' productivity and motivation at a high level
• Collaborate with our product department to build a product that our users love

Requirements

• You have at least 2 years of experience leading and managing a tech team in a start-up
• You have +7 years of development experience
• You feel comfortable with our tech stack (see above)
• You have experience in improving system architecture and infrastructure
• You have a business mindset and the ability to derive tech execution from business requirements
• You love to work in a flexible startup environment
• You can juggle multiple projects simultaneously
• You can be pragmatic: You know that sometimes practical approaches need to be found, and not everything can go perfectly
• You have the ability to stay positive and motivate others
• You love to be a manager, and it is ok for you not to have much time for coding anymore
• You have leadership skills, authority and strong communication skills
• You have resilience
• You are willing to collaborate with employees from other departments and managing directors
• You are able to hire high-performing senior engineers
