Title: Electrical Sustenance Engineer

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Client: Quest Global/Halliburton

Rate/Salary: $55-60/hour or $70-100k/year

Required:

  • Independently troubleshoot component failures, root cause analysis and propose suitable solutions.
  • Responsible for Component selection, testing and qualification.
  • Communication protocols CAN, SPI, I2C UART etc
  • Ability to read datasheets, interpret data and conclude best suited part as substitutes.
  • Electrical design of cables - Wiring diagrams, cable diagrams & schematics.
  • Identifying the suitable material, Creating EBOM, DFM/DFA.
  • Team player to collaborate with PCB designers, Mechanical Designers and component and PCB vendors.
  • Follow client specific documentation standards for all rework and new documents.
  • Experience working with Oil and Gas industry companies.
  • Familiar with International codes and standards like ANSI, IPC, API
  • Proactively manage component obsolescence; identify and qualify second source and replacement parts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Electronic Component Management procedures and practices; familiarity with microcircuits and other electronic components; familiarity with HTPT standards for electronic components. Working knowledge of electronics design and part reliability
  • Working within component engineering/ Sustaining team to establish part selection criteria and standards to be used throughout the organization
  • Creation of new components by reviewing data sheets for obsolete parts
  • Extensive Knowledge on PDM tools like CWI for documents/ data creation
  • Working with procurement and design organization to resolve part shortage and part obsolescence issues
  • Supporting and resolving failure analysis activities on electronic components used in downhole tools and ensuring corrective action is also incorporated into component selection criteria
  • Performing obsolescence reviews, identification and execution of cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of component failure modes, component reliability , component specifications and standards.
  • Prior experience with accelerated reliability testing, reliability theory and component failure analysis. - Knowledge of the electronic parts used in high reliability hardware .
  • Experience with the development of electronic parts management plans, and parts failure analysis desired.
  • Strong background in Electronic Engineering including knowledge of electronic parts, technologies and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with product development, pre-production activity, and product life cycle.
  • Work with design and manufacturing teams to perform root cause analysis on defective PCBs
