JOB TITLE: Senior Human Resources and External Affairs Manager

LOCATION: Newburgh, Indiana

DURATION: FULL TIME POSITION

Must-Haves

  • 10+ to 15 years' experience in a large manufacturing setting
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must have working experience with union workforces, and collective bargaining
  • Strong aptitude for strategic human resources initiatives, and strong partnership with organizational leaders

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources & External Affairs Manager has responsibility for all Human Resources, Labor Relations and Communications activities supporting approximately 1200 employees. This position needs to partner and guide the leadership teams in translating business strategy into HR action that drives business.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Translating business strategy into HR strategy
  • Establishing productive relationship with local Union representatives
  • Managing critical Labor Relations processes (grievances/arbitrations, MOUs, negotiations)
  • Management all benefits (Healthcare, Savings Plan, Pension) and payroll processes
  • Creating a diverse workforce and inclusive environment
  • Strategic staffing/recruitment and workforce planning
  • Talent management including training and development oversight
  • Organizational effectiveness and leadership development
  • Developing and administrating company's policy and procedures
  • Performance management and compensation
  • State and Federal employment laws
  • Setting communications strategy and partnering with local and State agencies and representatives aimed at creating awareness of business developments (Community Advisory Board)
  • Act as the liaison for local and state government
  • Drive community involvement initiatives and activities
  • Organizational structure and design
  • Team based organizational leadership
