- Making sure that all safety procedures are followed according to federal regulations and company policies, including wearing protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, and masks
- Performing routine tasks such as cleaning workstations, changing solutions in beakers or flasks, and sterilizing equipment
- Recording data from experiments or tests, including temperatures, concentrations of chemicals, and other measurements
- Training new lab technicians on proper equipment use and safety procedures
- Performing analysis of samples using equipment such as spectrophotometers and chromatographs
- Maintaining inventory of chemicals and supplies needed for experiments and testing
