Who You Are

You are an experienced data engineering, architecture and management professional, who is interested in designing and developing comprehensive data democratization solutions to support and facilitate business operations and analytics solutions. You have a strong understanding of data governance principles, back-end and front-end technologies, and have experience implementing highly functional solutions that can scale. You have a passion for the power of data democratization and know how to ensure user needs are met through agile development and stakeholder engagement. You are an excellent communicator, and can work with business subject matter experts, data architects, governance teams, support teams and managers to deliver professional grade solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data management analysts, product owners, scrum masters and project managers to plan, execute and support Sanofi s ambitions in data foundations.
  • Be in close contact with Sanofi s Industrial Affairs (manufacturing, supply chain) stakeholders to prioritize, scope, plan and develop data democratization solutions that will enable improved usage of critical data assets across the organization.
  • Partner with data experts, business stakeholders and process owners in implementing data governance best practices
  • Select optimal approaches among different external vendors for establishment of data foundations and work closely with them to customize their offering for our needs.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to all Industrial Affairs teams on the way they should store, access, search and retrieve data
  • Work with developers, engineers, and MLOps to implement uniform processing tools for the data stored on our servers.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • PhD or MSc in computer science, software engineering, information systems or related area with at least 6 years of experience in working on development of Operations (industrial, manufacturing, supply chain) data and engineering products.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of data analysts, product owners and engineers, and to plan and execute large scale data foundation projects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data management and governance principles, and other methods that rely on well-organized data.
  • Experience developing deployable code and data products and with deploying these under an agile work environment.
  • Comfortable working in cloud and high-performance computing environments (e.g. AWS, GCP, Databricks, Apache Spark).
  • Demonstrated work with leading data and database vendors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, data visualization and data storytelling skills.
  • Strong interest in the use of data in the life and medical sciences to improve patient lives.
  • Experience with core data science languages (such as Python, R, Scala), and familiarity with key database systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL).
  • Knowledge of AI/ML methods and data requirements
  • Experience with various enterprise-level Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Experience with Operations (industrial, manufacturing, supply chain) systems preferred
