Job Description
UNIT SPECIFIC KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Check schedules and organize daily patient flow in support of the Medical Director and Nurse Navigator. Schedule appointments as necessary.
Collect patient history. Perform screenings per provider guidelines.
Triage and conduct vital signs, including orthostatic vitals. Recognize and report abnormal vital signs; alert EMS if needed.
Assist physicians and nurses with various procedures and protocols.
Document relevant findings in the electronic health record; manage and update record to ensure information is complete and filed appropriately; relay instructions and other pertinent information to patient and/or family.
Answer calls and/or respond to other patient outreach such as portal messages.
Facilitate other timely communication, such as send/receive patient health records, obtain lab/imaging reports, hospital records, referral information, etc.
Complete forms, requisitions, and other paperwork as necessary.
Order, sort, and store supplies; restock supplies in designated spaces.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Reporting to the Nurse Navigator, the individual providing supportive clinical care to COVID-positive students in isolation housing is either a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or someone with similar training.
Working primarily from the isolation dorms, the incumbent provides daily wellness checks of students to ensure their COVID infection is running an expected course and symptoms are not worsening.
Responsible for coordinating daily telehealth encounters for students with the clinical care team of Client Student Wellness, including screenings, patient history, triage, and vital signs.
Assist with charting, scheduling, paperwork, forms, and other administrative duties. Partners with the Medical Director, Nurse Navigator, and others in Campus & Student Life to ensure the care needs of students living in isolation housing are met.
Experience working in an ambulatory care setting. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn Epic EHR.
Higher education experience is a plus.

General working knowledge of PC. Excel, Microsoft Word for windows and EPIC a plus
Computerized appointment scheduling experience preferred
Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced environment
Ability to respond appropriately to medical emergencies
Considerable skill in handling sensitive public contacts with discretion, tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, coworkers and physicians
Physical ability to perform stocking, lifting and transporting supplies and instruments
