Job Description

- Teaching classes in introductory statistics, advanced statistics, probability theory, or biostatistics
- Conducting research in their field of expertise, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting findings at conferences
- Helping students understand course material by answering questions during class or via email after class hours
- Designing and administering surveys to collect data for research projects or marketing purposes
- Preparing and administering examinations to test student progress in the course material
- Responding to questions from students about course content or academic issues not covered in class
- Assisting students with statistical software programs such as STATA or SAS
- Reviewing student work and providing feedback on improvement in areas where additional study is needed
- Conducting statistical analysis using computer software such as SPSS or R to answer questions in fields such as business, medicine, science, or technology
