Job Summary

At Amazon Logistics we are building a world-class last mile operation significantly complimented by our delivery channel which works directly with independent contractors called delivery partners to make deliveries to our customers. With this last mile delivery service (Amazon Flex) individuals can be their own boss delivering Amazon packages. It is powered by a mobile app that works in concert with our advanced logistics systems that allows delivery partners to on board schedule delivery times guide them through their deliveries with in-app mapping and navigation and more. The approach and technology are nothing short of disruptive and promise to challenge traditional approaches and change the way the industry operates.

We are continuing to build a high paced and lean Japan team to implement and expand our last mile capabilities across key segments of Japan Transportation business. Amazon is now looking to hire an experienced passionate dynamic analytical innovative hands-on and (most importantly) customer-obsessed program manager.

We are seeking a Sr. Program Manager in Japan to help establish Amazon Logistics last mile delivery as the preferred provider in this specific space in order to build our network of Delivery Partners to drive product utilization and service optimization within the Amazon Logistics world. Internally this leader will work directly with functions that cut across the organization including technology transportation operations and customer service to drive a great customer experience for our program.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated passionate highly analytical and detail-oriented possess superior interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable working independently to drive growth and change in a fast-paced environment. An extreme bias for action is an absolute must and candidates must demonstrate a superior track record of delivering results.

- Build and design strategic compliance initiatives that drive continued program innovation and regulatory alignment for Flex Japan
- Lead strategic internal and external partnerships including Legal Operations Product and regulatory bodies (MLIT JFTC) to ensure delivery partner programs remain in full compliance with evolving legal regulations
- Support a best-in-class delivery partner experience including how safety compensation transparency and compliance requirements are designed and communicated to DPs
- Create strategy and take actions to develop compliant delivery capacity across multiple stakeholders including Product Technology Marketing Legal Transportation Risk & Compliance and Operations
- Lead and coordinate large complex compliance projects such as MLIT Safety Regulations Amended Subcontract Act and Road Traffic Act implementation across multiple stakeholders and phased timelines

- 5 years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
- Business level of English
- Business level of Japanese

- 2 years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences experience
- Masters degree or MBA in business operations human resources adult education organizational development instructional design or related field
