JOB TITLE: Prisma Technical Team Lead

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline humanitarian agency
addressing hunger and malnutrition worldwide. WFP tackles poverty and hunger through a
range of interventions: saving lives and protecting livelihoods in emergencies; investing in
disaster prevention and mitigation; restoring and rebuilding lives and livelihoods in postconflict or post-disaster contexts; and implementing other programmes to address hunger.
Each year WFP assists more than 90 million people across over 80 countries.
Within WFP the Supply Chain Planning & Optimization (SCDO) unit strengthens operational
decision-making through end-to-end planning visibility and optimization. Working closely
with country offices and headquarters functions the team provides a holistic view of
operations ensuring alignment across functional areas and enabling data-driven planning
decisions. Analytical tools such as Prisma WFPs supply chain planning and operational
control tower are deployed to improve operational visibility anticipate risks and support
scenario planning.
The purpose of this role is to act as Prisma Technical Lead responsible for the technical
design implementation and stability of Prisma data products. The role bridges functional
requirements and technical delivery ensuring that analytical solutions are translated into
scalable reliable data pipelines and tools. The Technical Lead coordinates a small team of
team of TEC developers and supports the Product Owner in delivering robust and efficient
technical solutions aligned with operational planning needs.
Although the role involves leading technical development work it sits within the Supply
Chain Planning function as it is driven by operational needs. It requires a strong
understanding of supply chain processes ensuring that technical solutions are practical and
aligned with how operations work
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Technical Lead will support Prisma activities within the Supply Chain Planning &
Optimization unit in WFP Headquarters Rome reporting to the Prisma Product Owner and
working closely with TEC developers and operational stakeholders.
Under the direct supervision of the Prisma Product Owner the role will work on the delivery
of technical solutions data pipelines analytical products and automated reporting

capabilities within the Prisma ecosystem ensuring they effectively support operational
planning and decision-making.
Specific responsibilities include the following:
1. Act as technical focal point for Prisma data products supporting coordination of
technical delivery across developers and ensuring timely implementation of agreed
enhancements.
2. Perform the technical design and support prioritization of Prisma data pipelines and
analytics translating operational planning needs into structured technical
requirements.
3. Support coordinating the work of TEC developers providing direction on
implementation approaches reviewing outputs and ensuring alignment with
operational requirements.
4. Design and develop analytical tools automated reports and dashboards within the
Prisma ecosystem ensuring scalability performance and usability.
5. Build advanced automated reports on supply chain performance including prices
stocks lead times capacities demand coverage and alerts on potential risks.
6. Design and implement the data integrations between corporate systems and Prisma
ensuring consistency reliability and alignment with broader data initiatives across
the division.
7. Design implement and deploy technical solutions based on data analysis and
algorithms to support operational decision-making including solutions embedded in
Prisma data products.
8. Oversee the monitoring maintenance and continuous improvement of Prisma data
pipelines algorithms and technical tools ensuring stability efficiency and
scalability.
9. Support continuous improvement of planning methodologies and tools within Prisma
including data integration and modelling approaches to enhance operational
decision-making.
10. Prepare other in-depth quantitative analyses to support operational and strategic
decision-making.
11. Perform what-if scenario analyses to support the resolution of ad-hoc issues and
disruptions affecting WFPs supply chain and present findings to relevant units
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Masters Degree or equivalent in the area of Engineering Data Science or
Operations Research.

Experience:
3 to 5 year experience in the implementation of data visualization
dashboards and pipelines (with experience on agile methodologies testing
and deploying code system design etc.) is required;
Experience working with Palantir Suite of Tools (e.g. Foundry Worshop
AIP etc.) is required.
Experience designing and implementing supply chain planning visibility or
optimization solutions that support data-driven decision-making ideally in
humanitarian or complex operational environments is desired.
Experience with typical WFP Planning technology (Pandas Spark JS
Typescript SQL PuLP PyTorch XGBoost DARTS etc.) is desired.
Knowledge
& Skills: Self-motivated and proactive able to take initiative and work
autonomously to achieve objectives;
Problem-solving attitude able to structure ambiguous problems and solve
them through a mix of quantitative and qualitative analyses;
Highly numerate able to rapidly analyse and interpret data;
Highly developed communication skills able to use written and verbal
mediums to communicate recommendations and influence outcomes;
Strong time management skills with an ability to plan ahead and anticipate
requirements problems and obstacles;
Ability to juggle competing priorities successfully while working under
(sometimes) tight deadlines;
Effective people skills able to work both individually and in a team in a multicultural environment;
