A Day in the Life

We are seeking an experienced independent and motivated Trade Compliance Analyst to support import operations into our distribution center in Israel. As a key member of the EMEA Trade Compliance team you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth and compliant international movement of goods while maintaining strict adherence to local customs regulations.

This position is well suited for a professional with 5 years of customs experience who brings strong technical knowledge of customs regulations along with an operational mindset and a commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate is proactive detail oriented and eager to continuously learn and improve processes within a dynamic global trade environment.
You will be responsible for the operational oversight of trade compliance activities for the Medtronic Distribution Center in Israel.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Customs Operations: Manage day-to-day import and export inquiries from internal and external stakeholders to support operational KPIs and ensure smooth customs clearance.
  • Authority Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for Israeli customs authorities and support responses to official inquiries audits and requests.
  • Broker Management: Oversee customs broker performance through KPI monitoring regular business reviews and the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure accurate tariff (HS/CN) classification and origin determination in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize SAP ECC and GTS to extract and analyze data to support compliance monitoring reporting and operational decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Investigate and address customs-related risks or operational challenges to maintain optimal compliance levels.
  • Process Documentation: Develop and maintain written procedures process flows and work instructions to ensure alignment with corporate compliance standards.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required. A degree in International Trade Business Law or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Trade Compliance or Customs Brokerage.
  • Demonstrated experience working with customs authorities and managing customs-related compliance activities.
  • Strong knowledge of EU CN/HS classification WCO explanatory notes and rules of origin.
  • Proficiency in SAP (ECC and/or GTS).
  • Experience using Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel including pivot tables formulas and data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
