Engineering Team Lead

Pango is looking for an Engineering Team Lead to join our Growth Team and lead the development of some of our most impactful customer-facing platforms serving millions of users across Israel. The team owns key business domains including subscriptions benefits and loyalty programs driving products that directly impact customer engagement and company growth.

• Lead mentor and grow a team of software engineers both local and offshore.
• Own the teams execution delivery and technical direction.
• Serve as a hands-on technical leader who actively contributes to the codebase conducts code reviews and drives development tasks end-to-end from design to production.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with Product Data and Business stakeholders.
• Design build and operate scalable highly available production systems.
• Foster a culture of ownership collaboration and engineering excellence.
• Lead AI development cycle and modern engineering practices across the team.

• AWS experience.
• Python development experience.

Requirements:

• 6 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• 2 years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Proven experience building and operating distributed systems at scale in cloud environments.
• Experience leading architectural transformations including migration from monolithic to modern distributed architectures.
• Experience designing and building new systems from scratch.
• Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate software development and engineering workflows (e.g. Claude Code Cursor AI coding assistants or other AI-powered development tools).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A growth mindset and passion for developing people.
• Fluent in both Hebrew and English.
