The Internet of Energy (IoE) group specializes in making SolarEdge devices smarter and more connected.

Were looking for a hands-on Team Leader to guide a group of embedded software engineers building the core Linux platform that powers our connected devices. Youll lead the team technically and professionally while staying close to the architecture and design decisions that shape our platform infrastructure for years to come.

By joining us youll have the chance to be involved from the early stages of architecture & design planning through software development and testing phases up to integration within SolarEdge Embedded Software products infrastructures and field deployment.

What youll be doing in this position:

• You will lead the core services development of a modern state-of-the-art Embedded Linux-based Platform that drives SolarEdge next-generation products.
• You will lead a team of software engineers in creating complex solutions and delivering great results
• You will be in charge of recruiting training and leading new team members while shaping the standards of the team
• You will use modern technologies and management methodologies

Requirements:

• . in Computer Science Software Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5 years of embedded software development experience with a strong focus on modern C.
• 2 years of team leading experience managing a team of at least 5 software engineers.
• Strong experience developing software for Linux-based systems with a solid understanding of Linux internals and embedded Linux build systems.
• Experience designing and developing infrastructure and system-level software as an abstracted Linux platform layer for application teams.
• Experience working in multi-process and multi-threaded environments.
• Strong understanding of software architecture design principles and scalable system development.
• Experience with network communication protocols and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with strong learning capabilities and a continuous-improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with wireless and connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi cellular BLE or Sub-GHz communication.
• Experience with serial communication protocols including CAN bus and RS485.
• Familiarity with IPC mechanisms: MQTT ZeroMQ gRPC.
• Experience with Protocol Buffers (Protobuf).
• Experience with embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto or Buildroot.
• Experience with cybersecurity features for IoT devices: HTTPS Secure Boot Secure Storage.
• Experience designing service-oriented or microservices-based architectures.
• Experience building secure communication solutions for connected devices.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and modern software engineering practices.
