What youll be doing...

Verizon Ireland Sourcing Team is responsible for the development and execution of sourcing strategies to leverage relationships across the enterprise to achieve best total value. As a Sourcing Specialist the candidate will be responsible for handling Verizon internal Clients end to end sourcing requests. The candidate will be able to appraise and improve our sourcing activities by analyzing the Clients spending supplying partnerships and new possibilities. The candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of Verizon processes and systems and will be responsible for the coordination and the timely execution of Client requests within VSIL. The role will consist of both order management activities and leading sourcing projects across multiple categories. The successful candidate will be a dynamic professional and a strong team player with a transformational approach to current Verizon set ups and with the knowledge skills abilities and experience to design and execute processes in a global environment whilst supporting the Sourcing Organization.

As the Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for:

• Manage the existing Supplier Base under the assigned categories with activities encompassing contract lifecycle management aligning pricing with contractual elements supplier performance management and other related activities.

• Lead sourcing activities associated with construction installation engineering and maintenance services of Network Telecom infrastructure such as cell towers antennas fiber cable and other associated assets. .

• Initiate supplier contract discussions for suppliers whose spend surpasses Verizon threshold.

• Generate and implement efficient category management strategies from data analysis and market intelligence discussions.

• Identify spend inconsistencies and work with sourcing teams to decrease exposure/risk to Verizon.

• Prepare and lead negotiation strategies to secure favourable deals for Verizon.

• Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency.

• Work with global cross-functional teams within Verizon through the supplier selection process and for the approval of selected suppliers by stakeholders.

• Draft contracts and finalize through execution by relevant authorized parties.

• Negotiate pricing discrepancies directly with suppliers. Generate spend savings from negotiations.

• Manage all aspects of the supplier relationship including evaluating suppliers engaging and overseeing supplier management activities.

• Improve data management flow process through SLA reductions and through data accuracy amendments.

• Discover and partner with trustworthy suppliers.

• Communicate across sourcing teams on demonstrated improvements and on spend success opportunities.

• Ability to develop strong partnership relationships with peers and clients.

• Be a process coordinator support governance team and internal audit programme.

• Day to day engagement with key stakeholders to ensure full compliance of processes and controls.

• Process development controls and day to day management of operational initiatives.

• Ensure the highest level of accuracy.

What were looking for...

• Experience in a similar role of data management sourcing activities and contract drafting skills.

• Proven track record ofsourcing successes

• Understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgment

• Operate with internal & external stakeholders in a matrix environment

• Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships

• Comfortable with figures and in collecting analysing and interpreting data proficient in excel.

• Solid judgment with ability to make good decisions

• Good knowledge of ERP systems (SAP S4 HANA and Ariba an advantage)

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent course being undertaken.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills

• Knowledge of Business Analytical approaches and applications (including basic knowledge of Power BI)

• Ability to work in a fast paced matrixes global environment

• Advanced Excel skills and understanding

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (including PowerPoint and Word) as well as Google Applications.
