Payroll Specialist (Senior)

Teamworx is recruiting on behalf of a well-established international Group with a significant presence in Ireland for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join their Group Payroll team.
This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of a large complex Irish payroll. You will play a key role in ensuring colleagues are paid accurately on time and in full compliance with statutory requirements while working closely with colleagues across HR Finance and the wider business.
As part of a shared services payroll team you will work alongside two Payroll Associates and report to the Group Payroll Manager. This position is based in Dublin with a strong focus on supporting the Groups Irish operations.

Payroll Delivery & Compliance
- Take ownership of end-to-end processing of a high-volume Irish payroll ensuring accuracy timeliness and statutory compliance
- Validate and process payroll inputs including new starters leavers salary changes benefits allowances and statutory deductions
- Review reconcile and validate payroll outputs prior to sign-off
- Maintain high standards of payroll governance accuracy and data integrity
Process Improvement & Controls
- Challenge existing ways of working and identify opportunities to simplify strengthen and improve payroll processes
- Support development documentation and continuous improvement of payroll procedures and controls
- Contribute to payroll system enhancements and automation initiatives
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare payroll reconciliations audit information summaries and statutory reports
- Ensure accurate and timely submissions to Irish Revenue
- Respond to requests for payroll information from Finance HR and external auditors
- Analyse payroll data and support investigations into payroll queries or discrepancies
Employee & Business Support
- Act as a key point of contact for employee payroll queries providing clear professional and timely support
- Partner with HR Finance and managers to ensure payroll data accuracy and efficient issue resolution
- Provide payroll support to other Irish businesses within the Group as required
Essential
- Proven experience managing or supporting a high-volume payroll operation
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and Irish payroll legislation
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy
- Experience working to deadlines and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A track record of improving processes controls and ways of working
- Experience using payroll systems and HR information systems
Desirable
- IPASS qualification or equivalent payroll qualification (or working towards it)
- Experience working in a shared services environment
- Experience supporting payroll across multiple sites or business units
