We are currently hiring a Respiratory Physiologist for a hospital based in Dublin Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Perform assigned respiratory and sleep diagnostic tests safely and accurately in accordance with departmental policies and established clinical standards.
Carry out routine equipment calibration quality control checks and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Identify and escalate abnormal or inconsistent results to senior staff taking appropriate corrective action where required.
Prepare patients for procedures and provide education as needed including instruction on the correct use of home monitoring and respiratory therapy devices such as inhalers.
Accurately record compile and maintain patient test results on time to support medical reporting and clinical decision-making.
Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date patient records ensuring efficient retrieval of reports and undertake relevant administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and filing documentation.
Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control guidelines as well as manufacturer recommendations for equipment cleaning and maintenance.
Comply with health and safety regulations and participate in mandatory training (e.g. fire safety CPR manual handling) to maintain safe working practices.
Uphold professional conduct aligned with hospital values ensuring patient confidentiality and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and external organisations.
Engage in continuous professional development adapting to evolving medical practices and support the induction and training of new staff members where required.
Requirements
Hold a BSc in Clinical Measurement Science from Technological University Dublin or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiologists (IICMP).
Alternatively possess a relevant Level 8 scientific qualification validated as equivalent by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Physiologists (IICMP).
Have a minimum of one years experience working in a similar clinical or diagnostic environment or relevant supervised clinical placement experience completed during professional training.
Demonstrate commitment to fully engaging in the technical and clinical measurement responsibilities of the department.
Exhibit enthusiasm flexibility and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Possess excellent computer literacy and strong communication skills to support accurate documentation and effective patient interaction.
