Enhance patient outcomes by improving nursing and healthcare assistant standards through education professional development and evidence-based clinical practice.
Coordinate and deliver educational and clinical training programmes for Cardiology Ward and Cath Lab nursing staff ensuring staff competency and continuous development.
Supervise mentor and support registered nurses healthcare assistants and preceptees in clinical practice ensuring successful completion of orientation probation and Cath Lab Training Programmes.
Facilitate Clinical Adaptation Programmes by coordinating inductions orientation preceptor support competency assessments and compliance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) requirements.
Promote best clinical practices by assisting in the development implementation and evaluation of policies protocols clinical competencies audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate effectively with clinical coordinators nurse managers clinical nurse specialists educators and multidisciplinary teams to support staff learning and patient safety.
Organize and facilitate ongoing staff education mandatory training Code Blue preparation ACLS support mock emergency drills and competency-based learning programmes.
Maintain professional standards in documentation confidentiality ethics health and safety and compliance with hospital policies accreditation standards and relevant legislation.
Demonstrate strong leadership communication and management skills by fostering teamwork promoting diversity and respect supporting staff development and driving continuous improvement in clinical practice and service quality.
Requirements
Must be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Hold a postgraduate qualification or equivalent specialization in Cardiology Nursing while a Masters degree in Clinical Practice or a related field is desirable.
Possess a minimum of 10 years acute clinical experience including at least 7 years in a Cardiology or Cath Lab setting.
Demonstrate the clinical managerial and administrative capabilities required to effectively perform the responsibilities of the role.
Have proven experience in teaching mentoring and assessing nursing and healthcare assistant teams within a clinical environment.
Show experience in conducting clinical audits implementing quality improvement initiatives and supporting evidence-based nursing practice.
Exhibit strong communication coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster trust teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Maintain high professional and ethical standards while promoting continuous learning staff development and partnerships with educational institutions.
Demonstrate advanced theoretical and clinical knowledge in cardiology nursing along with strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
