Maritime Structural Engineer
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis and design using engineering software primarily STAAD Pro.
- Prepare detailed design calculations technical reports and specifications.
- Prepare structural sketches using AutoCAD to be developed by drafter.
- Review structural drawings prepared by drafter.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant national and international codes and standards.
- Collaborate and coordinate design efforts with other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in site visits for data collection inspections or addressing construction queries as needed.
- Review vendor submissions and shop drawings for structural integrity.
- Contribute to the development of project proposals and technical documentation.
- Potentially provide guidance or mentorship to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Ocean Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years (preferred in structural design of marine structures)
- Software Proficiency:
- Proven expertise in structural analysis and design software particularly STAAD Pro.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting and reviewing drawings.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of fundamental structural engineering principles.
- Familiarity with common structural materials (steel concrete etc.).
- Ability to apply relevant design codes and standards effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Language Skills: good command of both written and spoken English.
- Have a SKK Ahli Madya Dermaga (preferred)
