Job Summary
Purpose of the role
UK Data and Analytics (UK D&A) is a hub of advanced analytics competency providing high-end analytics services across global businesses and global functions. The work done in UK D&A forms a vital input towards strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making along with addressing unforeseen challenges.
Today the UK D&A team generates value across the group through a wide variety of data and analytic solutions and related business consulting. The vision for UK D&A is to become a one-stop shop for the UK businesss analytic needs leading the integration of analytics and data-driven decisions. It provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis model and strategy development & implementation Business Intelligence reporting and data management and analysis.
The team based out of multiple locations across the GSCs (India/Poland) providing analytics data & insight support to various UK business portfolios. Teams focus is on using logical thought process and relevant statistical techniques and right tools & techniques & productize scaled solutions to analyse product portfolio metrics and risk behavior to arrive at value-based optimum decisions
In this role you will:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of UK D&A generic data products and associated use cases.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team (data analysts business analysts etc.) delivering through Agile ways of working.
- Own programme execution: scope schedule interdependencies budget risks and benefits realisation.
- Provide senior stakeholder reporting via steering/governance forums; escalate issues and recommend decisions to keep delivery on track.
- Partner with data asset engineering architecture technology and value streams to shape requirements and deliver high-quality outputs on time.
- Enforce HSBC tooling reporting and delivery standards; align to HSBC methodology and change portfolio priorities.
- Establish strong data governance and quality assurance controls to maintain high standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in data product build using AI and Group/industry data product frameworks; manage key vendor relationships and knowledge-sharing across functions.
To be successful you will:
- Proven track record delivering and supporting data/analytics solutions using Agile.
- Strong end-to-end knowledge of the data and analytics delivery lifecycle.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to deliver customer value and service excellence.
- Financial services experience with working knowledge of data products as a delivery framework.
- Strong stakeholder management including advising and influencing senior leaders; excellent communication skills.
- Solid problem-solving capability with exposure to data engineering/data modelling AI and on-prem/cloud data platforms; comfortable operating in a regulated environment.
