Job Summary
Job Purpose and Impact
Transportation Specialist is a key role for Agriculture & Trading India responsible for planning coordinating and improving the movement of Inventory through road and/or railcar managing transportation activities. Ensure efficient safe cost-effective and compliant movement of commodity. Analyze transportation needs coordinate with carriers and stakeholders monitor performance and implement process improvements.
Key Accountabilities
- Onboard and manage transportation service providers carriers and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws regulations and safety standards.
- Plan and coordinate transportation operations and schedules in co-ordination with commercial team.
- Monitor shipments deliveries and transportation performance. Address transportation issues and resolve delays or service issues.
- Analyze transportation costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency & reduce cost.
- Ensure Commodity is handling loss during transportation is within agreed tolerance.
- Prepare transportation reports metrics & documentation and circulate timely with stakeholders.
- Ensure data collection compilation & update in system within agreed timeline
- Optimize routes and transportation networks for efficiency.
- Support transportation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management and / or relevant experience.
- 5 years of Experience in transportation logistics supply chain or fleet management in Agri commodity industry. Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
