Our client - a respected maritime organisation is hiring a Training Superintendent in Mumbai to enhance the effectiveness of both seagoing and shore-based personnel in training. The focus is on classroom delivery and building a structured training roadmap that supports safe compliant and high-performing operations across the fleet.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Designing delivering and managing the training of crew and predominantly officers.
The main responsibilities will be to identify the training needs manage the training programs and development of new courses for the seafarers as per the regulatory and industry practices.
Identify best practice training and development needs within the Technical Department through gap and job analysis on board appraisal and regular consultation with the Technical and Management Team.
Run engine-room focused classroom sessions for officers/crew (shore training environment)
Create and refresh training content (presentations handouts assessments case studies) in line with evolving fleet needs
Work closely with technical / operations / crewing stakeholders to identify skill gaps and prioritise training topics
Track training effectiveness through assessments feedback and follow-up actions
Support internal processes linked to training records compliance expectations and audit readiness
Contribute to annual training scheduling and basic cost planning as required
- Chief Engineer with at least two sailing contracts at that level.
- Previous experience in delivering classroom-based training is required
- Experience indelivering the ERM course is a plus
- Understanding of training and development strategies
- Dedicated to developing seafarer careers
- Highly analytical with a proactive approach to finding solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholder.
