Tooling Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing procurement and Management of tooling related activites on a global level. This role ensures optimal cost quality and delivery perfomance by working closely with internal stake holders and approved suppliers techncial understanding of tooling (e.g. injection molds Die Jigs & fixtures) and experince in international suply chain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tooling sourcing globally based on project needs
Able to drive global tooling strategies
Strategic negotiations with tooling suppliers
Pricing control on tool cost elements
Conduct e-auctons as per SOP
Monitor suppliers performance
Conduct suppliers audits and visits when neccessary
Risk and compliance management
Establish global supplier framework agreements
SKILLS AND COMPETECIES
Excellent communication skills required to drive the global strategies communicating with global stake holders of client
Data analyzing and preparing the global tooling reports to the stake holders
Good technical understanding with Automotive background knowledge
Review Monitor and controlling of project plan and decision maker for recovery plan
Ability to discuss and understand the technical requirements of the injections tools and checking fxitures
Familiar with injection tools function structure and process
Know how on plastic materials used for injection moulding
Ability to be flexible and consider the cultural challenges faced by a business.
Have a good understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership of equipment/services and therefore be able to discuss and negotiate favourable after sales service level agreements
Be a strategic thinker but also have the ability to work and support operational procurement and business develoment
Excellent EXCEL and Powerpoint skills for Data analytic presentations
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
15 year of relevant experience in tooling
Excellent negotiaion communication and project management skils
Experience in working in a global acting Tier 1 Supplier structure
Experience in developing of injection moulds and checking fixtures & ensuring compliance to quality standards
Experince with global sourcing cost analysis and supplier develoment
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Ability to travel
Working with LCC country supply base
Previous Automotive experience a bonus
