Tax Compliance Program Manager, Tax and Account Compliance
Job Summary
You will support the identification assessment and mitigation of tax compliance risks across Amazons Global Selling ecosystem. This includes executing operational controls aligned to EU/UK regulatory requirements maintaining risk documentation tracking programme deliverables and escalating emerging risks through appropriate channels. You will monitor regulatory developments and assess their operational implications contributing analysis that informs programme-level decisions.
Your focus will be on maintaining preventative controls supporting data integrity across tax and identity systems and producing audit-ready documentation. Working cross-functionally with Legal Policy Product Tax and Data Science partners you will execute against programme plans support the resolution of systemic issues and contribute to risk-based control frameworks. You will ensure compliance activities within your workstreams are proportionate risk-calibrated and delivered on time and to the expected quality bar.
Key job responsibilities
Own defined workstreams within EU and UK tax compliance programmes delivering risk assessments and control activities on time and to quality standards
Execute risk assessments using established methodologies documenting findings clearly and escalating issues that exceed defined thresholds
Analyze EU/UK tax compliance regulations (e.g. VAT DAC7 JSL Deemed Reseller) and their implications for Amazon sellers translating requirements into actionable deliverables
Support the development and maintenance of risk models and detection mechanisms to identify non-compliant or fraudulent seller behaviour related to tax obligations
Collaborate with legal policy finance tax tech and product teams to execute programme plans and deliver operational controls for new and existing programmes
Track key risk indicators (KRIs) and programme metrics producing status reports and flagging deviations to programme leadership
Prepare risk assessments programme updates and supporting materials for senior leadership reviews
Maintain audit-ready documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of risk and programme processes
A day in the life
You are joining a global team spread across the US EU Japan and India. You will partner closely with a Tax Governance manager in the UK and collaborate heavily with Risk teams based in India and the EU to ensure Amazons compliance controls are in the best possible working order.
Your days will blend regulatory analysis cross-functional delivery and stakeholder coordination across multiple time zones. One morning you are reviewing control effectiveness with the 2nd Line of Defence; the afternoon you are in a working session with EU 3P Marketplace partners assessing the impact of a new VAT regulation on sellers. The next day you are preparing materials for a senior leadership review or troubleshooting a data integrity issue with tech partners in Seattle.
No two days are the same but the constant is pace impact and global reach.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience in compliance program management legal governance audit risk/loss prevention or equivalent
- - Experience in tax regulatory compliance or financial services risk management
