System Manager (Kubernetes)

Job Summary

Avaloq is seeking a Senior Kubernetes & Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the design implementation and operation of our cloud-native platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Kubernetes Linux Cloud Infrastructure and Terraform with a passion for automation scalability security and reliability. You will work closely with platform security and application teams to build and maintain resilient infrastructure in a mission-critical financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design deploy manage and optimize Kubernetes platforms across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Manage Kubernetes cluster lifecycle activities including provisioning upgrades scaling monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Implement best practices for Kubernetes networking security storage and high availability.
• Build and maintain secure scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform including reusable modules and automated provisioning frameworks.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems focusing on performance security patching and system reliability.
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment automation and operational efficiency.
• Implement monitoring logging alerting and observability solutions to ensure platform reliability.
• Participate in incident management root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with development security and operations teams to improve platform capabilities and developer experience.

• Maintain technical documentation operational procedures and platform standards

Qualifications :

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in DevOps Cloud Infrastructure Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments including cluster operations networking ingress storage RBAC and high-availability deployments.
• Experience with AWS and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking IAM security and infrastructure best practices.
• Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash Python or similar languages.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus Grafana ELK/OpenSearch or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of DevOps and SRE practices including reliability monitoring and incident response.

Preferred Qualifications

• Kubernetes certifications (CKA CKAD or CKS).
• Cloud certifications in AWS OCI Azure or GCP.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault or other secrets management solutions.
• Experience working in banking fintech or other regulated environments.
