System Manager (Cloud DBA)
Job Summary
Role Summary
Owns Oracle database platforms end-to-end driving performance automation and reliability at scale while contributing to cloud transformation and platform engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own Oracle database environments across lifecycle (Dev/Test/Prod) with end-to-end accountability for availability and performance
- Lead database installation upgrades patching and lifecycle management
- Drive proactive performance tuning and optimization strategies
- Define and implement robust backup and recovery strategies (RMAN)
- Design and manage high-availability architectures (RAC Data Guard)
- Lead troubleshooting of complex incidents perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive long-term fixes
- Drive automation-first approach using Shell PL/SQL Ansible Terraform
- Collaborate with cloud platform and application teams for integrated delivery
- Ensure compliance with operational governance (patching change security standards)
- Mentor junior DBAs (G4) and uplift overall team capability
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database (19c/21c)
- Advanced SQL and PL/SQL expertise
- Deep expertise in RMAN backup/recovery
- Strong experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard
- Advanced performance tuning and query optimization
- Strong Linux/Unix system administration
- Strong scripting and automation capabilities
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience in OCI / AWS cloud database environments
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible Terraform)
- Exposure to Avaloq platform and banking domain systems
- Familiarity with observability/monitoring solutions

Qualifications :
Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science IT or related field
Experience
- 512 years of experience in Oracle database administration
- Experience managing enterprise-scale database environments
Core Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database (19c/21c)
- Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills
- Deep experience with RMAN backup and recovery
Additional Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with OCI / AWS environments
- Experience with Ansible / Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Exposure to Avaloq platform or banking domain systems
