Job Purpose/Overview

The Supply Planner translates the agreed demand plan into a feasible and executable supply plan that ensures product availability while balancing manufacturing capacity inventory service and cost. The role manages supply across multiple planning horizons the rolling three-month supply plan the rolling one-month production plan and detailed weekly production requirements ensuring alignment between market demand and manufacturing doing so the Supply Planner serves as the key link between the demand the business wants to fulfil and the supply the organization is capable of delivering.

Job Responsibilities

A. Demand-to-Supply Planning

  • Receive the agreed demand / consensus forecast from Demand Planning and translate it into supply and production requirements by SKU plant and relevant supply location.

  • Convert unconstrained demand into a realistic constrained supply plan considering manufacturing capability inventory material availability and other supply-chain constraints.

  • Assess changes in demand and determine their impact on production capacity and inventory.

B. Rolling Supply & Production Planning

  • Develop and maintain the rolling three-month supply plan based on the latest approved demand.

  • Translate the medium-term plan into a detailed rolling one-month production requirement.

  • Convert the monthly plan into weekly production requirements / schedules in coordination with manufacturing teams.

C. Capacity & Constraint Management

  • Evaluate demand against available manufacturing capability and proactively identify supply constraints.

  • Consider line capacity and demonstrated production rates OEE and utilization assumptions available shifts and operating hours planned and unplanned maintenance changeovers and sequencing minimum runs / batch sizes labour availability quality restrictions yield and process losses material availability shutdowns and external manufacturing limitations.

  • For significant constraints assess the affected SKU quantity and period and determine the impact on product availability.

D. Inventory & Product Availability

  • Ensure appropriate finished-goods availability to support customer demand.

  • Maintain forward visibility of projected inventory and days of cover by SKU / location.

  • Identify potential stock-outs before they occur and initiate preventive actions.

E. Manufacturing & Production Coordination

  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to agree feasible production plans and priorities.

  • Understand plant capacity operational limitations and production constraints.

  • Validate the feasibility of production plans considering capacity inventory and availability of required materials.

F. S&OP / IBP & S&OE

  • Provide the consolidated supply view as an input into the S&OP / IBP process.

  • Highlight supply-demand gaps capacity constraints inventory concerns and key supply risks.

  • Develop scenarios and recommendations for unresolved supply issues.

G. New Products Promotions & Product Transitions

  • Incorporate new product launches promotions relaunches pack changes and seasonal events into the supply plan.

  • Coordinate with Demand Planning Commercial Marketing Manufacturing and other stakeholders to ensure supply readiness.

  • Validate production capability and overall supply readiness before launches or major promotions.

H. Supply Risk & Exception Management

  • Maintain forward visibility of potential supply risks across manufacturing and the wider supply network.

  • Assess the impact of production losses demand changes material shortages and other disruptions.

  • Develop recovery and contingency scenarios.

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education & Professional Qualifications

MBA or equivalent degree preferably with specialization in Supply Chain Operations Logistics or a related discipline.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in Supply Planning Production Planning Inventory Planning Materials Planning or a related Supply Chain role.

  • Experience in FMCG Foods Consumer Products or a high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Exposure to multiple SKUs production lines plants and distribution locations would be advantageous.

  • Understanding of S&OP / IBP / S&OE processes is desirable.
