Subsurface Reservoir Engineering Intern 2027

As a Reservoir engineer (RE) internyou will be part of the Subsurface organizations Global Subsurface Solutions (GSS) armand our vision is to becomean industry-leading hydrocarbons business and the engine room of our integrated energy company; we will do this by always putting safety first reducing carbon emissions improving efficiency integrating across the value chain and flexibly deploying talent tosolvethe biggest issues. As a Reservoir engineer intern youll focus on integrating geoscience rock fluid pressure facilities and wells engineering data to understand hydrocarbon reservoir and/or storage container performance plan new developments and/or optimize the economic recovery of hydrocarbons and/or storage solutions. Depending on your BP location and role you will gain broad capability primarily through job experiences in:

• Well and/or area Performance: for example participation in the reservoir and well reviews; involvement in reservoir performance analysis reservoir fluid characterization well planning or flood management

• Reservoir and/or storage management: for example in setting depletion strategy generating field development options or reserves estimation

• Reservoir and/or storage simulation: for example in history matching or reservoir model updates developing data analytics solutions

Role and responsibilities

The precise nature of your internship role and project will be determined by your skills as well as the needs of thebusinessbut your responsibilities include:

• Working on projects and supporting your team to find the best solutions

• Helping to maintain performance within your team and for bp as a company

• Building relationships both within bp and with our external partners collaborating across functions segments and teams to deliver excellence

• Demonstrating drive and dedication through the bp values with an emphasis on safety

During your internship youll get continuous feedback and guidance on how to plan and deliver your project along with advice on what to look for and who to talk to. Youll also be encouraged individually and together with your intern peer group to find out as much as possible about other teams disciplines and operations to broaden your understanding of the bp is an assessed internship and may be a potential talent pipeline into graduate opportunities the following year

Requirements

• Be currently pursuing a bachelors or postgraduate degree inPetroleum Engineering Applied Petroleum disciplines

• Maintain a CGPA of 7 & above

• Should be class of 2028and be eligible fora10-weekinternshipbetween May to July 2027

• Have a willingness to learn a passion to excel and deliver results

• In addition demonstrable data science skills would be advantageous for any geoscience candidate applying for a role in bp. Specifically proficiency in using statistical methods to interrogate large datasets for geological insight and in the application of using scripting languages such as Python and R and development environments such as Jupyter and Rstudio.
